How to Keep Your Skin Soft & Glowing in Winter Season

Winters and your skin don’t go hand in hand. With dry air and low humidity, winter steals away your skin’s moisture and suppleness. Without proper care, dry skin can lead to cracking and bleeding. Here are some tips that you need to follow to keep skin soft, glowing, and healthy:

Wash in Lukewarm Water

Hot water feels good in winters but they make your skin dry and deprives them of oils away from the skin.

Moisturize Immediately

Your skin needs moisture. You should moisturize right after you wash so that you can seal the dampness within the skin. Moisturizing right is very important. Use skin care products that are good for your skin. Some products are petroleum based and they can further dry your skin. Use products which have natural hydrating ingredients, you may use B&T Calendula and Aloe Vera Multipurpose cream which moisturizes your skin and makes it soft and supple.

Protect

Protect your skin from harsh winter winds by wearing gloves and scarves. Also, don’t forget the sunscreen, winter sun can be as damaging as the summer sun. Some skin care products are specially made to protect your skin from the winter sun and wind.

Increase Your Liquid Intake

You tend to drink less water in winter but don’t forget that your skin needs hydration from within. A little warm water with lemon can be very good for hydration and is quite refreshing.

Exfoliate

Exfoliate your skin regularly to get rid of dead skin cells. Dead skin cells prevent moisture to go deep into the skin, keeping the skin dry and damaged. Exfoliate your skin and follow immediately with moisturizing.

Hydrate from Inside Out

Eat food that has high water content like watermelon, apples, oranges, kiwi etc. Also, make sure that you are getting enough vitamin C and Zinc to support the healthy production of collagen and elastin.
