Natrum sulphuricum is effective in the treatment of liver ailments such as jaundice and typhoid. It is also a remedy for cough and cold where the person has to hold the chest while coughing and the sputum is tough, viscid, and greenish yellow. It is a remedy for asthma in wet and humid weather. It is helpful in digestive disturbances like vomiting or sour discharge, with a brown and bitter coating on the tongue. The discharges like urine, stool, and vaginal discharge are greenish-yellow in colour.

The mouth is covered with slimy, thick tenacious mucus and a bitter taste. The tongue has a brown bitter coating and yellow complexion. It is indicated in bilious vomiting, acid dyspepsia, heartburn, and flatulence. It is amongst one of the best remedies for duodenal catarrh, hepatitis, icterus, flatulency, diarrhoea which is yellow and watery, diabetes, nosebleed during menses, herpetic vulvitis, gonorrhoeal disease, and asthma in children.
