HYDRANGEA ARBORESCENS
INTRODUCTION
Hydrangea arborescens is native of United States. It is an erect shrub grows up to 3 m in height. It contains cynogenic glycoside, hydrangenol, saponins, and volatile oil.
It is indicated for urinary complaints like gravel, profuse deposit of white amorphous salts in urine renal calculus, renal colic, and bloody urine. Burning in urethra and frequent desire for urination. Heavy deposits of mucus in urine. Sharp pain in loins, especially left. It is also indicated in enlarged prostate. Recently it is found that hydrangenol the main constituent of this remedy is useful for lowering blood glucose and free fatty acid. It is useful in uricacidaemia (an excess of uric acid in the blood), when there are severe pains in the back and the urine contains an excess of solids, also an irritation of the bladder of an acute character.
Indications: Kidney stone, urinary tract infection, enlarged prostate, diabetes, etc.
Schwabe’s Hydrangea arborescens Ø can be used alone or as supplement to other medicines.
Dosage: Unless otherwise prescribed, 10-20 drops 2-3 times a day, depending upon the case. Children should be given half of the adult dose. If complaints are not relieved, consult a specialist.
Side effects: No side effects of Schwabe’s Hydrangea arborescens Ø are known in therapeutic doses. It is to be avoided during pregnancy.
