Alpha™- Liv Drops

Alpha – Liv Drops Due to high demand from the market, for a formulation in drops for the liver, apart from the syrup already available in the market, Schwabe India developed this product. Introduction The liver plays a key role in metabolism. It has anabolic and catabolic, exocrine and endocrine functions. The liver is a blood reservoir, filter and store of different substances (e.g. glycogen, vitamins). It is the site of serum protein (e.g. albumin, prothrombin, fibrinogen) and enzyme synthesis. Metabolic processes (e.g. bilirubin, hormone, carbohydrate and lipid turnover) and the removal of toxic products are important liver functions. 1 Hepatotoxins (e.g. alcohol, tetracycline, acetaminophen, fungal toxins, and anabolic steroids) can cause specific damage to liver cells. Toxic hepatitis may be clinically silent or severe enough to lead to the rapid development of hepatic failure. Clinical features include hepatomegaly, enzyme abnormalities, fever, abdominal pain, anorexia, nausea, vomiting and weight loss. In patients with underlying cirrhosis, manifestations of portal hypertension may predominate. Aversion to fatty food, abdominal discomfort, nausea and vomiting after meals may be symptoms of 2 cholelithiasis. Jaundice results from accumulation of bilirubin. It has non-hepatic as well as hepatic causes. Hyperbilirubinaemia may be due to abnormalities in the 3 formation, transport, metabolism or excretion of bilirubin. TM Alpha -Liv Drops aids recovery and normalisation of liver functions. Severe liver disease needs specialised treatment. Indications: Slow liver functions, fatty liver, and for supportive treatment of hepatocellular jaundice and toxic liver damage.

Alpha-WD

Immune defence

It is known that in the process of strengthening of immunity different organs like bone marrow, thymus, liver, spleen, leucocytes, lymph nodes, tonsils, wide range of cells and molecules play an important role.  It is evident that any alteration of function of the above organs or suppression of function of bone marrow as source of white blood cells is going to badly alter the immune defence system of the individual.

What might not be known to many is an established scientific fact that the potent chemotherapeutic agents and antibiotics alter the normal organic functions and suppress bone marrow functions.  The molecules of immune system “immunoglobulins” (antibodies) are capable of recognizing and deactivating the disease causing antigens, thereby preventing or eliminating diseases.  Poisoning and toxicity due to alteration in organic functions are the cause of weakening of defence mechanism.  The modern system of homoeopathy looks towards systemic detoxification in the areas of concern i.e. bone marrow, liver, spleen, lymphocytes, lymph nodes, tonsils and the cells playing a vital role in the immune defence mechanism.

Alpha- WD is a combination of five proven homoeopathic medicines each known to enhance the body’s resistance power (immuno-stimulation).  They complement one another when used for affecting an increase in body’s resistance power.

Indications: Hypersensitivity to allergens, micro-organisms, proteins, and exposure to cold and proneness to diseases.

Mercurius solubilis Hahnemanni. : It promotes recovery. It effects more the lymphatic system, glands, internal organs and bones which are intimately linked to immune defence mechanism.  It is indicated for systemic acute or chronic poisoning.  It is an immuno-stimulant and helps elimination of toxins.

Phytolacca decandra: It has organ affinity towards tonsils, glands, lymph nodes, fibrous tissues, muscles, joints and kidneys.  It is indicated for focally toxic rheumatism and focally toxic irritation of kidneys.

Thuja occidentalis: Indicated for chronic poisoning of skin, skin diseases and lymphatics, and in rheumatic diathesis.  It is used internally and externally for warts.  It is a detoxifier, clinically it is found to have immuno-stimulant properties.  It covers complications due to vaccinations.

Recent Advancements in Basic Homeopathic Research – A Reporton Two Significant Publications

Author: Snigdha Suman Dalua , Praveen Kumar Singh In a study conducted at the Experimental Farm of the State University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, researchers investigated the impact of homeopathic treatments on piglets during the nursery phase. The study aimed to determine whether homeopathic agents could reduce fighting behavior, improve growth performance, and affect hematological, metabolic, and oxidative variables.
