Yucca filamentosa MT – The phytochemicals have laxative and antiseptic properties. It is used in so-called bilious symptoms, with headache. It is also used for despondent and irritability. Native American tribes use Yucca filamentosa for a variety of purposes. Roots were used to treat gonorrhoea, sprains and rheumatism. It is applied to sores on the skin. Many skin diseases were treated by rubbing the roots on the skin and by taking a decoction of the roots. The plant was used as a sedative to induce sleep.
