It causes the contraction of the pupil in glaucoma. It is indicated in astigmatism and ciliary spasm. It also produces spasm of the eyelids. It is also given in cases of cataract.

Head: There is violent headache with repeated vomiting.

Eyes: The pupils are contracted and the reaction is slow with shade before eyes. The eyes react slightly on exposure to strong light. The accommodation is difficult with spasm of pupillary muscles. There is pain and irritation of eyes on continued reading. It I indicated in spasm of eyelids.

Mouth: Saliva is increased first and later arrested.

Stomach: The vomiting is profuse with headache. The vomiting is continuous with cardiac weakness.

Heart: There is cardiac weakness with repeated vomiting. The heart beat is slow and pulse is small and thready.
