Spigelia is indicated in periodical headaches in which the pain is tearing, digging or boring in character. The pain is on the left side, mostly beneath the frontal eminence and temples, extending to the eyes. Belladonna covers the throbbing headache with heat, especially in the forehead, occiput and temples, aggravated by light, noise, lying down and better by pressure. Glonoinum is indicated in headaches increasing and decreasing with the sun, throbbing pain with vertigo on upright posture. The head feels enormously large. Nux vomica covers headaches especially in the occiput or over the eyes, worse in the morning, after mental exertion, by intake of tobacco, alcohol and coffee. There is dullness and confusion in the head. Secale cornutum is indicated in headaches with confusion, stupefaction and peripheral circulatory disturbances. The vertigo is as if from intoxication, and lightness of the head, especially in the occipital region.
