Bryonia alba is an excellent remedy for cough which is dry, hacking from irritation in the upper trachea, cough at night, must sit up, and worse after eating or drinking, vomiting, stitches in the chest, expectoration of rust-colored sputum and frequent desire to take a long breath. The respiration is difficult, quick worse every movement is caused by stitches in the chest, cough with a feeling as if the chest would fly to pieces must support the chest, croupous and pleuro-pneumonia, expectoration brick shade, tough, like lumps of jelly, coming into a warm room excites cough and heaviness in the chest. Drosera rotundifolia is a wonderful remedy for whooping cough, chronic bronchitis, croup, and laryngeal phthisis. The cough is spasmodic, dry, irritative, whooping, paroxysms following each other rapidly, choking, very deep and hoarse, expectoration with bleeding from nose and mouth, retching, hoarseness, rough scraping sensation in the throat, clergyman’s sore throat and asthma when talking. Eucalyptus globulus is an excellent remedy for asthma with great dyspnoea, palpitation, bronchitis of old age, bronchorrhea, profuse expectoration of offensive mucous, irritative cough, whooping cough in rachitic children, the fetid form of bronchitis, bronchial dilatation, and emphysema. Ipecacuanha has indicated in dyspnoea, constant constriction in the chest, asthma, yearly attacks of shortness of breathing, continued sneezing, coryza, wheezing cough, incessant cough, and violent with every breath, suffocative cough, nosebleed, nausea, bleeding from lungs, rattling cough, croup, haemoptysis from slightest exertion, hoarseness and complete aphonia. Antimonium sulphuratum aurantium is a remarkable remedy for many forms of chronic nasal and bronchial catarrh.
