Chamodent is useful in the treatment of troubles related to teething in children and infants such as throbbing pain in the teeth and gums, diarrhoea, colic and flatulence. It controls the inflammation of the gums. It also controls restlessness and irritability due to dentition.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, 2-3 tablets three or four times a day should be given. In acute cases, 3 tablets every hour can be given which should be reduced as the symptoms begin to subside.

Belladonna is the great children’s remedy indicated in troubles related to teething, throbbing pain in the teeth with dryness and the symptoms come and go suddenly. There is heat, redness, burning and throbbing in the parts affected. The onset is sudden and violent. Chamomilla is a great children’s remedy suited for children who are peevish, irritable and restless. It is indicated in children with teething troubles with one cheek red and got, the other pale and cold. The pain in the teeth extends to the jaws and inner ear, worse after warm drinks, coffee and at night. The child is restless and irritable but gets better by being carried and petted constantly. The complaints are worse from anger and vexation. Hepar sulphur is indicated in the initial stages of any inflammation and pain in the right side of the face due to teething with gums swollen and painful to touch. There are ulcers in the corners of the mouth and the gums bleed easily. The teeth are sensitive to the touch. Pulsatilla nigiricans is also the best remedy for the teething troubles in children who are peevish, chilly and thirstless. Ferrum phosphoricum is indicated in children who are weak, sensitive and anaemic. It is the remedy for the first stage of fevers and inflammation. The face is flushed, cheeks sore and hot, with pain in the teeth extending all over the face and vomiting of undigested food.
