Allergic rhinitis is a condition due to sensitised or weak immune system, where an allergen such as pollen or dust triggers the symptoms of common cold like sneezing, itching of nose, swelling of mucous membrane of nose, runny nose, etc.

Causes

Modern concept is that the allergic reaction is triggered by allergens. The substance that triggers an allergy is allergen. When a person with allergic rhinitis breathes in an allergen such as pollen, mold, animal dander, or dust, the body releases certain chemicals like histamine that cause allergy symptoms. Homoeopathically this tendency of developing allergy is considered as a constitutional or miasm associated with weak immune system.

 Homoeopathic management

Homoeopaths normally manage such cases by considering the nature of symptoms, aggravating and ameliorating factors, constitution of the patient, miasm, etc. Homoeopaths will go through the case and choose a drug based on the above points and some condition specific products as given under ‘get remedy’ are prescribed to manage the acute episodes of the problem.
