It is indicated in constipation without any apparent cause and the stool is dry, hard, and black. Constipation is associated with a dull headache, foul breath, and a bad taste in the mouth. The tongue is coated. The liver is torpid. Calcarea fluorica is indicated in constipation leading to hemorrhoids and fissures. Kalium muriaticum is indicated for aphthae, constipation, flatulence, and foul breath. Natrum muriaticum is useful for distended abdomen with constipation. Silicea covers the feeling of the rectum being paralyzed, fissures, and hemorrhoids.

It should be taken as 4 tablets for adults and 2 tablets for children, at time for four times a day at the interval of three hours or as prescribed by the physician.

Calcarea fluorica is indicated in constipation with itching of the anus, cracks near the lower end of the bowel, fissure of the anus, bleeding hemorrhoids, itching from pinworms, internal or blind piles with pain in the back and sacrum, with much wind in the lower bowels and aggravation during pregnancy. Kalium muriaticum is a remedy for constipation with light-coloured stools, and bleeding haemorrhoids where the blood is dark, thick, fibrinous and clotted. The abdomen is tender and swollen, with much flatulence and itching at the anus from pinworms. Natrum muriaticum is indicated in constipation with burning pains and stitching after stool, anus contracted, torn and bleeding, stool dry and crumbling, and the abdomen distended. Silicea is an excellent remedy for constipation always before and during menses, with irritable sphincter ani. It is also a remedy for fistula in ano, fissures, and hemorrhoids, and painful anus with spasm of the sphincter, the stool comes down with difficulty which when partly expelled recedes again. The stool is passed with great difficulty and straining and rectum stings. The abdomen is hard, bloated, painful, and has cutting pain with constipation.
