Efficacy of homoeopathic medicines for the management of tonsillitis

A study was done to find out the efficacy of different homoeopathic drugs from mercury group. 30 diagnosed cases were considered for the study. The symptoms were evaluated and a suitable Mercury group remedy was prescribed.  Among the 30 cases 26 cases responded well to the Mercurious solubilis and 4 responded to Mercurius iodatus flavus. 200C was given to 25 indicated cases, of which 24 showed a marked improvement and 1 case showed a moderate improvement. 30C was given to 3 cases and 1M was given to 2 cases. All these five cases had a marked improvement in their symptoms. From the study, it is concluded that Mercury group was found to be very effective in managing acute tonsillitis in children.
