Neutral Swiss government’s report recommends homoeopathy for its effectiveness, safety and economy compared with conventional treatment

17 February, 2012: The Swiss government has produced the most comprehensive governmental report ever written on homoeopathy, looking at the evidence from randomized double-blind and placebo controlled clinical trials. The report also looked at other data including evidence from systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and a wide body of preclinical research including fundamental physio-chemical research, botanical studies, animal studies, and in-vitro studies with human cells. We first reported on this in November 2011 when the initial report was published in German. The report has now been published in English in book form. After assessing the pre-clinical basic research and high quality clinical studies, the Swiss Government’s Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Report concludes there is sufficient evidence to recommend homoeopathy for its effectiveness, safety and economy compared with conventional treatment. The data further confirms that homoeopathic high-potencies seem to induce regulatory effects and specific changes in cells or living organisms and that 20 of the 22 systematic reviews of clinical research testing homoeopathic medicines detected at least a trend in favour of homoeopathy.

World renowned homoeopath Dana Ullman, writing in the Huffington Post noted that:

“The Swiss government has a long and widely-respected history of neutrality, and therefore, reports from this government on controversial subjects need to be taken more seriously than other reports from countries that are more strongly influenced by present economic and political constituencies. When one considers that two of the top five largest drug companies in the world have their headquarters in Switzerland, one might assume that this country would have a heavy interest in and bias toward conventional medicine, but such assumptions would be wrong. The Swiss government’s inquiry into homoeopathy and complementary and alternative (CAM) treatments resulted from the high demand and widespread use of alternatives to conventional medicine in Switzerland, not only from consumers but from physicians as well. Approximately half of the Swiss population have used CAM treatments and value them. Further, about half of Swiss physicians consider CAM treatments to be effective. Perhaps most significantly, 85% of the Swiss population wants CAM therapies to be a part of their country’s health insurance program.”

Homoeopathy has a valuable role in New Zealand’s Health Industry

The New Zealand Council of Homoeopaths endorses the findings of a Swiss report by Bornhoft et al, the most comprehensive analysis of homoeopathy done by a government. This report has affirmed that homoeopathic treatment is both efficient and cost-effective and should be reimbursed by the Swiss NHS and insurance schemes. “This is a well researched evidence based paper and should be considered by those in the health profession as a definitive start to implementing homoeopathy as a Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapy ” said Gwyneth Evans spokesperson for the NZCH.

Pre-clinical basic research and high quality clinical studies were researched and findings were able to affirm that homoeopathic high-potencies induced balancing or normalizing effects and specific changes in cells or living organisms. The Swiss report cited 29 studies in “Upper Respiratory Tract Infections/ Allergic Reactions,” of which 24 studies found a positive result in favour of homoeopathy. Further, six out of seven controlled studies showed that homoeopathy to be more effective than conventional medical interventions (the one other trial found homoeopathic treatment to be equivalent to conventional medical treatment). All of these results from homoeopathic treatment came without the side effects common to conventional drug treatment. In evaluating only the randomized placebo controlled trials, 12 out of 16 studies showed a positive result in favour of homoeopathy.”

“Circumstances have never been as opportune as now, in the quantum era for homoeopathy to come to full acceptance by western medicine. The burgeoning new field of scientific research emerging from the convergence of nano-science, biotechnology and quantum physics is paving the way for biologists to be able to understand the level at which homoeopathy induces healing responses”, says Judyann McNamara, a Canadian homoeopath, director of the Montreal College of Classical Homoeopathy, and former physicist. Homoeopaths in New Zealand and around the globe are excited that the time has come to confidently say that quantum research describes in depth how homoeopathic preparations stimulate self-healing in living organisms.

A press release by The New Zealand Council of Homoeopaths further states that just as phenomena such as human metabolism, cell division, photosynthesis in plants, or bird navigation show that invisible quantum forces are orchestrating these processes. The only evidence of these forces at work is their effects on the living organisms and systems. The rapid growth of homoeopathy worldwide and clients’ feedback about their positive health outcomes are giving proof that homoeopathy is a safe, effective and affordable treatment choice for many short term and persistent health issues with a success history as a healing science of more than 200 years. “The New Zealand Council of Homoeopaths would like to see the recommendations and results of the Swiss report considered by our Government for regulating and integrating homoeopathy into public health in Aotearoa, New Zealand” the press release states.

Gujarat CM Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi inaugurates national homoeopathy conference in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar, Tuesday, February 07, 2012: Inaugurating the national homoeopathy conference in Gandhinagar today Chief Minister Narendra Modi called upon homoeopaths to create an atmosphere of trust among people for the homoeopathic treatment. Even as the homoeopathic medicines are affordable and free from side effects, homoeopaths should create awareness regarding it among the people. If the practitioners of homoeopathy themselves lack the faith in homoeopathy, people can not have trust on it. Success stories of homoeopathy should properly be put before the people, he suggested.

Chief Minister said that homoeopathic medicines prove very effective in the case of teething in children. It is seen that the irritating teething process makes children extremely weak and malnourished. It would be a great service if the homoeopathy can be used for keeping strong the immune system of a child during teething process and thus preventing children from malnutrition. Regarding this, he appealed homoeopathy association to launch a drive for curbing malnutrition.
