Biofungin®

Introduction

A restorative tonic is needed by persons who are overstraining mentally or physically or who suffer from metabolic disturbances, chronic illnesses or poor assimilation. Weakness, fatigue, malaise and debility affect routine and normal activities. They may result from a variety of other conditions like neurologic, chronic and toxic disorders, nutritional deficiency, etc. Sudden weakness or fatigue may often follow acute illnesses like flu, acute diarrhoea, viral illnesses, etc.

Anaemia

Fatigue is often felt by anaemic people. Anaemia is a condition in which body does not have enough healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells provide oxygen to body tissues. Haemoglobin is a protein inside red blood cells which is responsible for carrying oxygen to different organs and tissues for their normal functioning. Iron is a key part of haemoglobin, and iron deficiency anaemia is the most common form of anaemia. About 20% of women, 50% of pregnant women, and 3% of men do not have enough iron in their body.

Importance of Microminerals

Apart from iron, microminerals play significant role in restorative activity. Important microminerals include cobalt, copper, manganese and zinc. A tonic such as Biofungin with such essential microminerals is necessary in the treatment of metabolic, neurologic, chronic and toxic disorders, poor assimilation and nutritional deficiency to take away weakness, fatigue, malaise and debility. The ingredients of BIOFUNGIN® have reported proven efficacy in such indications.

Indications: Convalescence, lack of appetite, anaemia, conditions of fatigue.

Indications of the individual ingredients may be of interest to the readers.

Magnesium borocitricum: Magnesium is known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. It alleviates many symptoms including nervousness, irritibility, fatigue, and depression. It is also helpful for anxiety, insomnia, muscle cramps, menstrual cramps, muscle tremors or twitching. Psychological changes, such as apathy, apprehension, decreased learning ability, confusion, and poor memory are lessened by this salt. Sensational disorders such as numbness, tingling, and tetany (sustained contraction) of the muscles as well as delirium and hallucinations are also relieved.1

Zincum sulfuricum is useful for trembling and cramps in arms and legs. Weakness is marked by nervous headaches. It also covers hypochrondiasis due to masturbation.2

Cobaltum nitricum is reported in homoeopathic literature to cause an increase of red corpuscles.3,4 Useful in anaemia.5 Anxiety, depressive state with difficulty in concentration and poor memory are covered.6 It is also indicated for irregular appetite, loss of libido, pains in the bones, general emaciation and trembling of hands.4

Cuprum aceticum is remembered in anaemia and chlorosis.7 Memory weak; brain functions decreased.8

Manganum aceticum is indicated for general anaemia and is useful when the menses are early, scanty or there are menstrual discharges between the periods.7 Manganese has an action on the blood-forming process like iron and has been successfully used in cases of anaemia. Mentally weak and nervous with anxiety and fear.4

Acidum formicicum increases muscular strength and resistance to fatigue. Useful in chronic muscle pain, soreness. Pains are usually of a neuralgic character persisting in certain spots. Also indicated for failing vision.4

Tartaricum acidum is mentioned in literature for great weakness, dullness and lassitude.2 It is also useful in paralytic debility, confusion in head with dizziness, general bruised sensation, especially of lower limbs and frequent yawning.8

Ferrum glycerinophosphoricum: Iron is essential in human physiology. It is an integral part of many proteins and enzymes that maintain good health. In humans, iron is an essential component of proteins involved in oxygen transport. It is also essential for the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. As mentioned above it is essential in the formation of haemoglobin. It is useful in alleviating the feeling of tired and weak and helpful in increasing the work and school performance. It is indicated for slow cognitive and social development during childhood. It is also useful in decreased immune function, which increases susceptibility to infection.9
