Arsenicum bromatum

It is also known as Arsenious bromide, Arsenic tribromide or Bromide of arsenic. The drug has earlier been reported by E. P. Anshutz, A. L. Blackwood, W. Boericke, J. H. Clarke and others. Central council of homoeopathy (CCRH) reproved the drug between 1999-2000 on 28 provers of the age group of 18-41 years. 6, 30 and 200 centesimal potencies were used for the reproving. Mind

Increased irritability and anger.  Easily disturbed by any kind of noise or music. Restrain him from quarrelling.

Head

Swelling on left side of head. Pressing pain in both sides of temporal region. Throbbing bursting pain, pricking sensation in occiput and parietal region, worse pulling hair better gentle massage and light fanning, slow walking, lying on back quietly, closing eyes. Throbbing pain in both temporal regions. Pain  better by lying on right side. Throbbing pain after rising in morning with drowsiness.  Pain in frontal region better by hard pressure and massage. Pulsating temporal headache. Throbbing pain in forehead worse noise better pressure. Throbbing pain in forehead better by tight bandage.

Eyes

Heaviness in both eyes. Stinging pain in left eye.  Burning sensation after rising, whole day.

Ears

Irritation and throbbing pain in left ear better scratching.  Impaired hearing.

Nose

Watery acrid discharge from left nose, right nostril stopped better after lying down,  worse cold food or drink.  Coryza with bland watery discharge.

Mouth

Raw sensation of left side of tongue with burning pain.  Itching sensation inside the mouth, tongue, throat worse taking food especially arvi (taro root) and brinjal, better drinking water.

Throat

Burning pain in throat down to oesophagus better by drinking water. Pricking pain in left tonsil  worse during deglutition and on empty swallowing.

Stomach

No desire for food, satiety soon after small quantity of food.  Thirst decreased. Eructation with mild sour taste better after taking food.  Burning in throat, sore throat. Heaviness.

Abdomen

Rumbling sound in upper abdomen.  Pain gradually increases in abdomen with flatulence.  Pain in abdomen along the transverse colon better by passing flatus and stool (flatulence),  worse bending forward.  Pressing pain in right hypochondria better after stool. Pain around umbilicus, heaviness better by passing flatus.  Distension of abdomen.

Rectum

Pain better after stool. Frequent loose stool with mucus.  Semisolid stool without any discomfort. Constipation with hard, large, dark coloured stool. Burning pain in anus after stool.  Constipation with bruised pain in rectum worse after stool.

Urinary

Mild burning pain in urethra worse after urination which gradually disappears.

Back

Swelling with pinching pain on scapular region.

Chest

Mild burning pain in right chest below the nipple extending to right axilla and back.

Extremities

Small nodules (abscess) in right axilla worse by pressure, pus formation.  Pricking pain in left hip joint worse by motion better by rest; gradually appears and disappears.  Pain in small joints, particularly in hands.

Sleep

Sleepiness with uneasiness.

Fever

Chill afternoon (1.15 p.m.) followed by fever.  General weakness after exertion better after rest.  Rise of temperature up to 102ºF.

Skin

Urticarial rashes, burning, pricking pain.  Itching on wrist joint, back of neck below collar of shirt.  Rashes appears suddenly.  Itching on the whole body with eruption of pin head size worse by heat better cold water.

Generalities

Desire to take rest, slight fever worse exertion. Body ache with feverish feeling. Drowsiness from evening with slight sweat on back to neck, folds of arms, knee joints..
