Thymus vulgaris MTÂ is indicated for bronchitis and whooping cough. Because of high thymol contents, it covers all the symptoms of thymol like genito-urinary problems like prostatorrhoea and priapism (3x) and hook worm diseases (1x). It also covers minor digestive problems, flatulence, bloating etc. The herb is also given for weak vision, complaints of stomach and liver, suppression of urine and menstruation. In Europe, it is considered as tonic, antispasmodic, carminative and in infusion used in skin diseases. Its oil is applied in toothache. Its volatile components have showed strong antioxidant activities.
