Taraxacum officinale MT – The root of the plant acts as diuretic, as tonic, aperients and also used as a remedy for chronic disorders of kidney and liver. The drug is used for gastric headaches, flatulence, bilious attacks, with characteristically mapped tongue and jaundice skin. Used in case of cancer of bladder. Research establishes it as diuretic without loss of potassium and detoxifier. Recent scientific studies have established its active principles having α‐glucosidase inhibitory activity, thus indicating its use for diabetes mellitus.
