Gentiana lutea MT is the source of the well-known tonics used in medicines earlier. It has thus some claim to be a “positive tonic,” as it may cause increased appetite in the healthy. Depending on the potency used it covers ravenous hunger, as well as a diminished appetite. Stomach symptoms are marked. Aching in the eyes and throat. Dry, thick saliva. In recent researches, its extract has shown protective effect of reproductive organs against toxicity produced by harmful drugs.
