Coleus aromaticus MT contains essential oils, carvacrol, phenols, salicylates, thymol, engenol etc A homoeopathic tincture is made from the leaf of the plant. It is covered by Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia of India. It is used in gonorrhoea. Its leaves are used in urinary diseases and vaginal discharges. Juice of leaves mixed with sugar acts as a powerful aromatic, carminative and also given in case of colic and dyspepsia. Research reports cover its benefits on asthma and bronchitis. In many parts of orient it is used as anticold drug.
