Baryta carbonica (Barium carbonicum) CH

Barium Carbonicum CH is a Homoeopathic Dilution prepared from the Carbonate of Baryta and is a frequently indicated in infancy and in old age. It is useful in cases of tonsillitis especially in recurrent cases. It is a good remedy for old men in whom degenerative changes have started as a consequence of old age. There is a great aversion to meeting strangers. There is a loss of memory and confusion along with extreme shyness.

The patient is prone to catch cold and has suppurating tonsillitis after every episode of cold. There is coryza with swelling of the upper lip and the nose. Sensation of cobwebs on the face is a characteristic feature. The abdomen is hard and tense along with a lot of distension. There is swelling of the glands around the neck. There is offensive sweat of the feet. All complaints are worse from thinking of the complaints, from washing and from lying on the painful side and are better by walking in the open air.

It is to be taken as an internal medicine. Please note that the dosage of single homoeopathic medicines varies from drug to drug depending upon the condition, age, sensitivity and other things. In some cases they are given as regular doses as 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day whereas in other cases they are given only once a week, month or even in a longer period.
