It is a remedy for great contradictions, superficial erratic character, effects of grief and aversion to tobacco. The mood is changeable, introspective, silently brooding, melancholic, sad, tearful, sighing and sobbing. Headaches are worse from tobacco, anger and grief. The muscles of the face twitch and flicker in the eyes. The characteristic globus hystericus and difficulty in swallowing fluids are particular to this remedy. The menses are too early, black, too profuse, or scanty, and spasmodic pains in the stomach and feminine sexual frigidity due to suppression of grief.
