Okoubaka MT is indicated for weakness of memory, vertigo, nicotine intoxication, flatulent dyspepsia, unstable glycemia, venous troubles of the lower limbs, mental retardation, cardiospasm, diabetes, allergic syndromes speically due to insecticides their intoxication or side-effects. Clinical studies confirm action on liver, gall bladder and pancreas. The bark of Okoubaka aubrevillei is traditionally used as a herbal drug by the native Africans for treatment of alimentary poisonings and infections of the gastrointestinal tract. The dried pulverised bark is reported to be used prophylactically at oral doses of several teaspoons per day.
