Mentha piperita MT stimulates the cold perceiving nerves, so just after taking it, a current of air at the ordinary temperature seems cold. It has marked action on respiratory organs and skin. It is useful in gastrodynia and flatulent colic. It is a known carminative relieving muscle spasm, stimulant for sweat glands and gallbladder and for its antiseptic properties. Research supports antifungal, antiseptic, antispasmodic, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and cooling effect.
