Skin eruptions can be any abnormal inflammatory rash on your skin. It can be of different types and can be present on any part of our body. They can be dry or moist, smooth or cracked, painless or painful, small or large, can be single or appear in bunches and may be accompanied or not by other symptoms as well like in systemic illnesses like SLE.
Skin eruption is a term used in general to name any kind of growth over the skin. It can affect people of any age group, i.e., from children to old age. Common skin eruptions include diaper rash, pimples, boils, eczema, hives, etc. Their cause differs from bacterial, fungal or viral infections to auto-antibodies produced by our body itself. Sometimes these eruptions might indicate some other disease in our body as well, so a proper diagnosis is required to exclude other systemic illnesses.
Depending upon their appearance, which include, color, size, shape, distribution, elevation or depression, consistency, dry or moist, etc., these can be classified into many types out of them common skin eruptions are discussed below:

Depending upon the type of skin eruptions these are given different names and hence classified into different diseases. Common pathological conditions of skin include eczema, boils, acne, hives, tinea etc.
Skin eruptions can be caused by many factors which include infection from bacteria, virus or fungi; allergic reactions from our body; by-product of some systemic illnesses like SLE, rheumatoid arthritis etc. Some common skin conditions are described below:

Antimonium crudum: It is best indicated when the skin eruptions are accompanied by gastric derangements. For pimples, vesicles and pustular eruptions on the skin. Suited to people having skin sensitive to cold bathing. Also indicated for urticaria and measles-like eruptions especially when itching aggravates from warmth of bed. One of the best medicines for warts and corns which are very painful especially while walking on rough and hard pavements.
Bovista: For urticaria when it occurs with rheumatic lameness of joints, palpitations and diarrhea. It increases on waking up. On becoming warm, itching increases in the eruptions. Also indicated for moist eczema with thick crusts formation on it. For pimples which cover the entire body and for herpetic eruptions.
Calcarea sulphurica: It is a biochemic remedy which helps in eczema and skin eruptions, boils, pimples, swollen, tender gums that bleed easily.
Dulcamara: This should be given for eruptions which appear after exposure to cold, damp weather. Can be given for little boils, urticaria, humid eruptions on face, genitals, hands, etc. For warts which are large and have smooth texture especially over face and palmar surface of the hands. For eruptions accompanied with itch which gets worse in cold, wet weather. Can be used in eruptions having thick crust over them, which bleeds when being scratched.
Kalium bromatum: One of the best medicines for acne of face where pustules are present predominantly. Can be used in psoriatic eruptions. Itching becomes worse on shoulders, face and chest.
Natrum muriaticum: Suited for persons having oily and greasy skin especially on hairy parts. To be used for dry eruptions, especially on the margin of the hairy scalp and bends of joints. For urticaria with burning and itching. Warts on palms. Can be given for eczematous conditions which has raw, red and inflamed appearance and aggravates on eating salt and at seashore. For hives which itch after exertion.
Petroleum: Should be think of for persons having very sensitive, dry, rough, cracked and leathery skin having constricted sensation. Can be used for herpes; for chilblains which are moist, itch and burn; for bd sores. Over-sensitiveness of skin, i.e., Slightest scratch leads to suppuration of skin. For skin eruptions having thick, greenish crusts, having burning and itching over it. For eczema.
Psorinum: For dirty, dingy looking skin. Suited to people having oily skin as the seborrheic glands secrete excessively oil. For eczema behind the ears where there are crusty eruptions all over. For urticaria after every exertion. To be used for skin eruptions when these are accompanied with intolerable itching. For herpetic eruptions which affect scalp and bends of joints in which itching gets aggravated from warmth of bed, though the person feels cold all the time.
Sulphur: This medicine is one of the most common medicines used and also abused for almost all kind of skin eruptions. It is suited to persons having dry, scaly, unhealthy skin, where every little injury suppurates. Can be used for pimply eruptions, pustules, rhagades, hang-nails, freckles etc. For skin eruptions which occur after using local application. Indicated when the eruptions are accompanied with itching and burning which gets worse from scratching, warmth, washing and in the evening. Also when the problem returns every spring time and in damp weather.
