India has seen a mega event in the field of homoeopathy, the World Homoeopathic Congress, organised at New Delhi, from 1st to 4th December 2011. This is the fourth time this congress being held in India after 1967, 1977 and 1995. Speaking at the inaugural function, the Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad announced a host of new initiatives being considered for homoeopathy and other AYUSH systems in the XIIth Plan, including All India Institute of Homoeopathy and Homoeopathic Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited. A detailed report on this is given below.
